Open Day 2026

We had a fantastic turnout for our 2026 Open Day on Saturday 8 August, with the sunshine making it a brilliant day for visitors, plot holders and friends of City Road Allotments.

There was plenty to see and enjoy, with plot holders pulling out all the stops and offering a wonderful selection of home baking, jams, handmade pottery, paintings, fresh produce, plants and other goodies for sale.

Visitors also had the chance to learn more about the history and wildlife of our allotment site. We were delighted to welcome a representative from the Dundee Museum of Transport, who gave an interesting talk about the historic tram that has its home here on the site. We were also joined by the RSPB, who shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for the birds and wildlife that make our allotments their home.

And, of course, there was a little friendly competition! Two of our local councillors went head-to-head in a very tense, edge-of-the-seat game of Connect Four. Let’s just say there was plenty of strategy involved!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported our event and helped make the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year!
